How to Enable Remote Desktop Connection Windows 7

Enable Remote Desktop Connection :

Remote Desktop Connection is a useful feature that helps connect your computer to a remote computer in a different location. By using Remote Desktop Connection you can access files, folders, and programs on the remote computer.




To use this feature, you need to enable (turn on) this feature on the machine that you want to connect to.
How to enable Remote Desktop Connection in Windows 7 :

  1. Type Sysdm.cpl in Start menu search field and hit enter to launch System Properties dialog box.





or open System Properties by doing these steps:
  • Right-click on Computer icon present in desktop and select Properties.
  • In the left pane, click Advanced System Settings to open System Properties box.

2. Click to Remote tab.



3. Under Remote tab ->
     at Remote Assistant section ->
     check the box named Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer.

      Next, under Remote desktop section ->
      check the box named Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication.
      or,
      check Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop option if you don't know the version of Remote Desktop connection that other computers are using, but it is less secure than the third option.

4. Click Apply button.
5. It's done! Now you can use remote Desktop Connection to connect to a remote computer.

Note : You can't use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to a computer using Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, or Windows 7 Home Premium.
