How To Shutdown Windows 8 (Several Methods)

Shutdown Methods in Windows 8 :

The first thing you will discover after switching to desktop at Windows 8 that its missing Start menu. Start menu has been replaced with Start Screen and you may be wondering where are shut down, restart, log off and switch user options.


In Windows 8 shut down, restart, Log off and Switch user options aren't included in the start screen area. There are various methods to access shut down options, you can follow one of them.


Method 1 :
1. Move your mouse cursor to upper-right or lower-right corner of the screen to visible Charms bar.
2. Click Settings charm to view Settings panel.




Step 3. Click Power button and then click Shut down, Hibernate, Sleep or Restart option that you want.

Method 2 :
1. Simultaneously press Ctrl + Alt + Del keys to open a new screen.
 Step 2. Click the power button viewed on the lower-right corner of the screen and then click Shut down, Restart, Hibernate or Sleep option that you want.

Method 3 :
Step 1. Press Windows + I hotkey to open Settings.
2. Click Power button and then click Shut down, Hibernate, Sleep or Restart option that you want.

Method 4 :
1. Switch to desktop and right-click or left-click on the empty space of Taskbar.
2. Press Alt + F4  to open the good old Shut Down Windows dialog box. Select Shut, Restart, Hibernate or Sleep from the drop-down menu and click it.
